Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services “will strive towards expanding green hydrogen-based production”
2022-07-21

▲ Techcross Water & Energy Inc.’s Managing Director Sang Min Kim is talking about hydrogen business initiatives, operating strategies, and their results.

The Seongnam Water Filtration Plant hosted the ceremony for the construction of green hydrogen demonstration facility on Thursday, 21st of July. Techcross Water & Energy Inc. and Techcross Environmental Services Inc. (Jung Chul Kim, CEO) added much to the occasion with their own promotion booth.

The ceremony was intended to set the common goals for the public-private partnership towards the water filtration plant’s hydrogen-powered production and utilization of green hydrogen. It also envisioned achieving carbon neutrality and contributing to revolutionary energy policies.

In June this year, Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services was selected in the final call for participants in the “Development of Water Electrolysis-Based Hydrogen Production Base” project. North Jeolla Province, Buan County, Hyundai E&C, among others, have been selected as well. With this project, Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services is taking its first step towards constructing green hydrogen production base. These companies introduced their hydrogen business strategy, capacity, and achievements by far and emphasized their role as the “total solution provider” of green hydrogen while components and materials of “Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell” and “Alkaline Water Electrolysis” were on display.

They are also determined to come up with a platform optimized for hydrogen business by utilizing their water electrolysis system technology, as well as their capacity for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), and Operation and Management (O&M).

On Tuesday, July 5th, prior to the start of Seongnam Water Filtration’s construction of the green hydrogen demonstration facility, the companies signed a “Memorandum of Agreement for Revitalizing Green Hydrogen Research to Achieve a Carbon Neutral Society” with Korea Water Resources Corporation and Korea Institute of Energy Research. The memorandum highlights a cooperation towards common technology development to promote commercialization of green hydrogen technology and mutual cooperation towards discovering research agendas on green hydrogen and renewable energy. Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services will produce the equipment for green hydrogen production and engineer and operate the production facility, as well as evaluate its performance.

“We are the no. 1 global leader in Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) with know-hows in building infrastructures acquired through experiences in the design, construction, operation and management of environmental facilities and technology in water electrolysis accrued over 20 years in the field of BWMS,” an official of Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services said. He then continued to say that Techcross Inc.’s main components for hydrogen production through water electrolysis and capacity for equipment internalization will together contribute to building the hydrogen ecosystem both in Korea and abroad. “Development of Water Electrolysis-Based Hydrogen Production Base” project which began in May this year marks our commitment to building green hydrogen infrastructure through active participation in the demonstration project and R&D, alongside public energy corporations, their affiliates, public research institutes, professional businesses, etc.”

Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Services provide integrated solutions in business development to design, construction, operation & management, and consulting across all areas of water treatment from pure and ultra-pure industrial water supplies, sewage and wastewater treatment and sewage reuse, waste to energy, air pollution reduction and renewable energy such as solar and energy storage system (ESS).
